Enrique
Hi, I’m Enrique and I’m a little over 2.5 years old! I had a very tough start to my life and was not socialized with humans; I was also kept in a dark basement for my first 2 years! It left me very fearful of people, especially Men.

When I first came into foster care it was difficult, I was scared of my foster Mom and everyone I met; I would try to run away and bark. I’ve been in foster care and something called rehabilitation for over 7 months now and I’m doing better. I’ve met lots of nice people and I’ve learned that given a little time, those people are all really nice to me! I’m still scared at first and it does take me some time to warm up to folks; so I will need someone who understands that I need lots more time to develop my people skills.

I’m housebroken; I don’t potty in the house or chew anything I shouldn’t. I know how to sit and lay down on command, and I even know “off” and “Leave it” although they are kinda hard for me sometimes (my foster Mom says I need more practice and training).

I get along with almost all other dogs; I’ve never lived with cats and I do have a strong prey drive so maybe cats are not for me!? I’m not a good match for children either, they scare me too!

Do you have experience with Keeshonds; &/or rescue dogs with issues? I need someone who is willing to give me the time and patience that I need; could that be you? Local Chicago, IL area applicants only need apply for Enrique please.
